Let’s all welcome the fall and think of great craft ideas that matches up with the season. May children are excited when the season of fall comes in for it’s already the start of a cold weather and they all get to wear their boots and coats. And they can’t also wait to feel the snow falling on their rooftops. It’s just so great to have the feeling that you’re expecting something. Also, it’s during the fall season when gift giving is present since it’s just in time for Christmas. There are so many things to love with the season of fall.
Kids always love to collect things because they find every gift they receive as a treasure. And whenever Christmas is near, they get to receive gifts from parents and friends and they find a special box to place their tokens and trinkets. In this project, we will be focusing on creating a Trinket Box wherein your children could keep all the beautiful things that are given to them, especially girls. This project is just right for children ages 5 and above for it’s fun and easy to do. Not to mention, the trinket box creates a long-lasting container for all those fun treasures.
Here are the things that we will need for the Princess’ Trinket Box.
Shoe box with lid
White Craft Glue
Construction Paper (pastel colors)
Embellishments
The things needed are really simple and the level of difficulty is easy so there’s no need to worry that much for your children not to finish the said project. First, get a shoe box from your old pair of shoes. It could be dad’s old shoe box in order for it to be larger in dimension. Second, apply white craft glue on the parts you want to start with. Then, cut different shapes of different sizes too out of your pastel colored construction papers; the more creative you make the better. We choose the soft colors since we want to come up with a princess inspired trinket box. Just continue with the different sides of the shoe box and cover it with colored papers. Leave one side of the lid in order for you to place the title of your trinket box. Cut out letters from the magazines or simply print some text on a piece of white paper the name of your project, for example “My Trinket Box”. In addition, to make it more sweet and princess like, stick on pink and white sequins.

There are a lot of times when we parents see our children’s clutter on their desks like pencils, erasers, notebooks and just about anything. It could really be bothering for us because they always want to see their children’s cranny organized and well-set. It’s natural for parents always wanted the ideal setting for their kids even though they are still young that’s why they jazz up their kids’ bedroom just to have a good sleep and nice place to relax. And for that reason, they want their kids to be well thought-out and put things in the right place in order to have a more pleasing environment.
My children are twins, one girl and one boy and they are already 6 years of age. Of course, they don’t share one room just to keep privacy even though they are still young at age. I want them to be different from one another despite the similarities on how they look as well as their personality. During weekend we usually spend time together creating kid’s crafts that they can also use inside their room. I’m enjoying this bonding session with them while they are still young because once they reach the teenage years, we can’t do it anymore. They will have their own things to finish and to catch up with.
We often go to craft shops every month and get the supplies that we need for our weekly project. I usually don’t recommend letting my children buy read made canisters because I know that they won’t value it rather than creating their very own work of art. Children who do crafts keenly can appreciate it when they grow old and care for it as if it’s a treasure.
We just buy tin cans in medium sizes, ribbons, fabric of their choice, buttons and other embellishments that could make the project more attractive and creative. In this way, they can express themselves freely.
It’s really fun and simple, if your children want to do a kid’s canister too. They just need to purchase the items we bought, white craft clue and scissors. Cut the fabric and wrap it around the can then just add the embellishments. You can try blue for boys and pink for girls and it’s all done! Have fun!
