It wasn’t until after high school that I became interested in reading again and its really because I wanted to read The Firm. I was seeing all the commercials on TV about the movie and I wondered if I was going to feel okay about seeing the movie (it was R rated) or not. I picked up the book and read until it was time to work or until my eyes hurt so bad I couldn’t continue. It took me 3 days only because of my work schedule. This was my way back into reading.

Now today, many years later I was chosen as one of the 18 Partners to help promote John Grisham’s new book The Confession! I will be holding a Giveaway in conjunction with Molly-Mormon.com, AskAnissa.com and Scrap-n-Craft.com. One lucky winner will be chosen at random to get a copy of the book!

An innocent man is about to be executed. Only a guilty man can save him.

For every innocent man sent to prison, there is a guilty one left on the outside. He doesn’t understand how the police and prosecutors got the wrong man, and he certainly doesn’t care. He just can’t believe his good luck. Time passes and he realizes that the mistake will not be corrected: the authorities believe in their case and are determined to get a conviction. He may even watch the trial of the person wrongly accused of his crime. He is relieved when the verdict is guilty. He laughs when the police and prosecutors congratulate themselves. He is content to allow an innocent person to go to prison, to serve hard time, even to be executed.

How do you enter? I am glad you asked!

Orange, royal purple and green is the newest- consider how the non-seasonal prints may work for Mardi Gras as well. Also the traditional orange and black refreshed with gray and white.

Paper and embellishment collections that feature traditional Halloween themes of jack-o-lanterns, witches, bats and ghosts. Many retailers have gone with a more autumn/harvest season approach to their product. Many of these collections feature autumn leaves, pumpkins and stylized wildflowers. These collections transition quite well into Thanksgiving. Consider projects that do dual duty as Halloween and Thanksgiving décor with a few additions to make it season appropriate.

Cards-Folks will be looking for ideas for cards and especially party invitations. This is a great opportunity to show your customers great ways to make simple and elaborate cards. This is also a great time to show your customers the value in starting their own card clubs in the new year, and giving special discounts to card groups.

Products
Check out the Websites of your favorite retailers or my favorites for products that you can have delivered immediately.
,
Paper Adventures-The Jeepers Creepers incorporates many hot trends including the 1970’s style owl, orange and orange and purple palette.
Sizzix-Halloween by Brenda Pinnick includes Sizzlits 3-Die Sets and Strip Dies, Sizzix Originals Dies, Sizzix Bigz Dies and Sizzix Texturz and Sizzix Clear Stamps. These are such great pieces to add to any Halloween layout. www.sizzix.com.

Moxxie-Eye of Newt Collection includes double sided papers, witch body parts (think of the witches legs under the house in Wizard of Oz, stickers and rub-ons. www.gotmoxxie.com.

Little Yellow Bicycle-Frightful has plenty of options in the traditional orange and black combine the papers and punch out s with a black haunted house chipboard album. www.mylyb.com.

Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L-Their black adhesives are the perfect sticky note for the dark toned papers. Be sure to include some in your Halloween as well as core displays. www.scrapbook-adhesives.com.

Crafty Secrets-Halloween stamp sets- if your customers love vintage images these are some of my favorite. www.craftysecrets.com.

Me and My Big Ideas-Cornucopia is a lovely fall leaves-themed collection in autumnal tones tat would work well as table décor.

Regular readers have noticed Scrap-n-Craft was down for a little over a week. We changed hosting companies, and in the process found out that Scrap-n-Craft’s database was wiped out. Some of the posts will be available to repost, but, you may still find a few error pages until we can get some of these posts back. You may also notice some of these posts may not ever be reposted, simply because they are nowhere to be found.

This is a really great time to start fresh and make the necessary changes that comes with growing and evolving. One part of this process will be to add more information on my coaching program and the information and programs that I rely on to help make my sites and clients sites traffic generators and places that readers want to bookmark to come back to. You will see over the next year, links to some of the best places on the web, and those that will enable you to have not only a web presence, but one that will bring traffic and sales.
